My Microsoft Word is Anti-Imperialist... and...
Why oh why does Microsoft Word recognize to capitalize “De Tocqueville” automatically but still insist that I spell “America’s” wrong every time I add an apostrophe and an s to the end of it?   The only explanation that I can come up with is that my Microsoft Word software is anti-imperialist… and French. Clearly a diplomat. Clearly a contradiction.  Mon...

sitting in the co-op
Sitting in the co-op, minding my own business. Frantically reading Andre Bacevich’s The Limits of Power so I can write this damn paper and finally be done with this semester.  Stuck sitting next to sexually active nerds.  The girl just interrupted an awkward make-out-over-coffee-table session to say: “You know how you have five senses? Well it’s actually more. You actually...

The War is Over
Today, December 15, America pulled out of Iraq.  At 5:15 a.m. EST the U.S. Joint Forces Iraq command ceased operations.  Nine years, 100,000 Iraqi deaths, nearly 5,000 U.S. deaths, and tens of thousands wounded. Countless scarred.  And there were no weapons of mass destruction to be found anywhere.
